Why are treatments more affordable in Hungary than in the UK?

Average costs/expenses in Hungary are much lower than in Britain, as are dentists’ salaries, the utilized materials and implant centre overheads.

How can I have proof of the guarantee?

Every piece of implant has its own international serial number, and all documents will be given to our patients. Regarding the treatment as a whole, we provide a "personal global therapy card and graphics" together with the guarantee on paper.

Is anyone able to have a dental implant?

Anybody who is healthy enough to have a tooth extracted is probably healthy enough to have an implant. General good health and an adequate jawbone are the key requirements. Anyone who lacks one or more teeth owing to injury, disease or decay could be a candidate for dental implants.

What will happen if my jawbone is not adequate for an implant? How can this be dealt with?

According to state-of-the art technology and latest treatment methods, there is, nowadays, no such thing as a non-suitable jawbone when it comes to having an implant; and even in the case of a long-term missing tooth or paradontosis, most of the time - with the help of CAT Scan-Assisted Positioning - augmentation can be avoided. Generally, for 10 per cent of persons it is inevitable that treatment begins with the creating of new bone in the sinus – and on such an occasion your jaw will be augmented on the day of consultation. The bone grafting material, with the help of growth factors in the patient's own blood, will begin to form the bone itself. After a half year time period your jawbone will be complete - and suitable for our beginning implant therapy.

How successful is the procedure?

For more than three decades, dental implants have been used on people successfully. Good oral hygiene is an important factor in insuring long-lasting results after an implant.

Is the procedure painful?

Anaesthesia is used during the surgical procedure to eliminate any discomfort. Your dental surgeon may prescribe a painkiller to use against any discomfort after surgery. Most patients indicate that the discomfort is minimal once they have got back to their hotel or home. Many feel great the next day, and are able to travel or return to work.

Why is it worth choosing an Implant Positioning against a "conventional" dental implantation?

  • A dental surgeon needs to be seen twice only.
  • The duration of treatment is shortened.
  • Gum exposure and, also, in the overwhelming majority of cases, a need for jawbone augmentation is unnecessary.
  • The procedure is free of bleeding, tumescence and post-treatment pain.

In the case of someone who wishes to have temporary prosthesis, when will it be ready by?

The same day of implantation - and it will be put in place immediately.

If it is necessary to extract a tooth, when is it possible to put an implant in its place?

Immediately. Within a few months after extraction, 30-40 per cent of the gums and jawbone atrophy. The implant prevents your jaw from undergoing this, though – so the level of quality of your bone remains, and it is also more aesthetic to have an immediate implant. (Exceptions are molars, where, to replace them in this way, it is not always possible to have an implant straight away.)

Can the healing time of implants be determined in advance?

At the first consultation this is able to be determined with 90 per cent assurance.

What do I need to do if a complication occurs?

This is unlikely to happen but, rarely, an infection may arise, even if the treatment was undertaken with proficiency and the utmost care. If this happens, we encourage you to contact us immediately, and we will help you to find the most efficient solution to the complaint.

How much will the treatment cost?

The cost will be determined by the number of implants made, the type of prosthesis recommended and your own particular case – and this can only be arrived at after a thorough examination by the dentist. If you would like an advance estimate, please send us a panoramic X-ray shot of your teeth and the name of the type of implant(s) you would prefer, and we will try to determine a rough cost. (The final amount will be fixed at the time of the initial consultation).

How do I need to pay?

For the dental treatment you will pay directly to the chosen implant centre, on site. The hotel you stay in will charge you for accommodation in accordance with our reduced prices. Programs and entrance tickets to events are generally to be paid for on the spot, and tickets will be reserved in your name. We will give you detailed information about payment before your bookings are made.

Does the service sector accept credit cards in Hungary?

All major credit cards are accepted by our implant centres and hotels; also, most places, shops, restaurants, theatres and concert halls will accept this kind of payment. The most commonly accepted credit cards are Visa and MasterCard. (Please note that AMEX is accepted at only a few places)
